ALL ABOUT

The Sweet Leis Co.

Founded by Tiffany Bacon

Born in O‘ahu. Raised in the Philippines. Rooted in tradition, celebration, and love, with ribbon on the kitchen table.

The first lei I ever made was for my son’s elementary school graduation in 2012. It was uneven, imperfect, and full of love. I didn’t know then it would grow into something so much bigger.

Since that day, I’ve made leis for graduations, birthdays, baby showers, weddings, retirements, and “just because” days. I can’t say no—because when someone you love is being celebrated, you show up with a lei. And if you grew up Filipino, that lei better be extra.

I was born on O‘ahu and raised in the Philippines, where every celebration comes with food, laughter, and a little friendly chaos. In my teens, I returned to Hawai'i and later settled in California, where I built a career in tech sales and met my husband. Lei-making became my way of staying grounded—something hands-on and heart-first in a world of screens and meetings.

I don’t work in a studio. I work from my kitchen table, surrounded by ribbon spools, charms, and cold coffee. It’s messy. It’s meaningful. It’s home.

Why “The Sweet Leis Co.”?

“Sweet” is for my dad, Emilio, known to many as “Sweet Bacon.” He was joy in human form. Smiling, kind, always extra.

When my sisters and I once dreamed up a bakery called The Sweet Dots Co., I tucked the word 'sweet' in my heart. That cake business never took off, but the name and the spirit behind it stayed with me. So when this ribbon-lei hobby turned into something real, I knew what to call it.

The Sweet Leis Co. was born, a brand built on love, family, and celebration.

Every lei is handcrafted with care, whether I make it here in California or collaborate with local lei artisans in Hawai‘i. Each one is a small circle of connection between islands, between cultures, between people who love deeply and celebrate loudly.

This business is my way of honoring the people who shaped me, the places that raised me, and the traditions that remind us we belong.

If you’re here, thank you. You’re part of the story now.
You’re part of the lei.

With love,
Tiffany 🌸
